We built NowShine AI as a habit assistant app. We do not intentionally collect personally identifiable information such as your full name, address or phone number, unless you choose to provide it (for example, when you contact us by email).

However, certain technical data may be collected automatically through third-party services (such as Google / Firebase), including:

• Device information (device model, operating system version)
• Approximate location (derived from IP address)
• App usage information, performance and crash reports
• Notification tokens and anonymous identifiers

2. How we use information

We may use the information described above to:

• Provide and maintain the core features of the App
• Schedule and display habit reminders and notifications
• Ensure reminders work reliably after device reboot
• Analyse crashes and performance, and improve the App
• Prevent abuse and secure our services

We do not sell your personal data to third parties.

3. Third-party services

4. Permissions used by the App

The App requests only the minimum permissions needed for its features:

• INTERNET – to communicate with servers and third-party services.
• POST_NOTIFICATIONS – to display habit reminders and motivational notifications (Android 13+).
• WAKE_LOCK – to briefly wake the device so scheduled reminders are delivered reliably.
• RECEIVE_BOOT_COMPLETED – to reschedule reminders and background tasks after the device restarts.
• FOREGROUND_SERVICE – to run certain tasks in the foreground when needed so Android does not kill them unexpectedly.
• SCHEDULE_EXACT_ALARM – to schedule precise reminders/alarms on newer Android versions.

We do not use these permissions to access your personal files, photos, contacts or microphone.

5. Local notifications and background processing

The App uses libraries such as flutter_local_notifications and WorkManager to:

• Schedule local notifications for your habits and tasks
• Reschedule alarms after device reboot or app updates
• Run limited background jobs related to reminders

These background processes are used only to support your habit tracking and are not used to track your activity outside the App.

6. Data storage and retention

Most habit data (tasks, streaks, settings) is stored locally on your device. If cloud syncing or backup is introduced in the future, we will clearly explain this in the App.

Technical logs and analytics data collected by providers such as Google/Firebase are kept according to their own retention policies.

7. Children’s privacy

The App is not intended for children under 13 years of age (or the minimum age in your country). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us with personal data, please contact us so we can delete it.

8. Data sharing

We may share information only in the following situations:

• With service providers (such as Google / Firebase) to operate the App
• When required by law, court order or legal process
• To protect the rights, property or safety of NowShine AI, our users or the public

We do not sell your data to marketers.

9. Security

We take reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect your information. However, no method of transmission or storage is completely secure and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

10. Your choices

• Notifications: You can enable or disable notifications for the App at any time in your device settings.
• Uninstall: You may stop all collection of information by uninstalling the App.
• Requests: If we ever store identifiable data on our own servers and you wish to access or delete it, you can contact us using the details below.

11. Changes to this Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will update the “Last updated” date at the top. The new policy becomes effective when it is published on this page or inside the App.
